Biography:

My research interest has always been centred on the area of plant development. Previous to my current position I completed my PhD at Rothamsted Research studying early gibberellin response genes in Arabidopsis. After my PhD I moved to CSIRO, Australia for 3 years to work on Arabidopsis ecotype specific seed dormancy. This was followed by a brief post-doc following up lines of research founded during my PhD. My next position was a first step away from plant hormones where I studied the effects of temperature on plant development and the circadian clock at Edinburgh University.

I have now moved to a support role and assist Jurek along with the other lab members in a range of activities. My support role encompasses purchasing, safety, training and various admin duties. I also assist on the various research projects in the lab when required. Currently my main focus within the laboratory is on stress induced transposon release.
