During my PhD I worked on epigenetics, particularly on the histone H3 family in Arabidopsis. First, we genome-wide mapped the canonical H3.1 and the variant H3.3 to understand better their functions in plants and then we studied their dynamics from a developmental perspective.
For my first postdoc, I decided to continue working on root development in the Helariutta lab and I am currently focused on companion cell specification.
In my free time I also run a science blog named “Gene Tonic” (@gene_tonic_). I enjoy travelling, hiking, watching the latest tv series and in my fridge there is always some Spanish jamón!
