Instructions for Poster Presenters

Thank you for participating in the Sainsbury Laboratory Symposium Poster Sessions. We look forward to sharing your research with delegates.

Poster format

As the poster sessions will be presented online you have an opportunity to be a bit more flexible with your poster design and format. You can submit your poster in the traditional format, but remember that people will be viewing your poster on their computer screen and so you might like to adapt your poster to make it easier to read, eg increase text font size.

You can provide your poster in any of the following file formats - PDF, PowerPoint, jpg, png. *If ppt - do we limit how many slides?

We will also have a Virtual Poster Gallery available for delegates to visit during the week. This includes the option to add an audio file to your poster that people can play while viewing your poster. Please include a short (3 minutes or less) audio MP3 file when you send us your poster if you would like to include an audio recording with your poster. This is an optional extra if you would like to summarise your poster in an audio format.

Live Poster Sessions

You will be selected to present your poster at one of the two live poster sessions - 13:00-14:00 BST on either Thursday 24th or Friday 25th September 2020.

Live Poster Sessions will be hosted on Microsoft Teams and you will be paired with another poster presenter for the session. Symposium delegates will be able to drop-by at any time during the hour for a video-conference chat with you.

How can delegates view my poster

Posters and pre-recorded talks will be hosted on a security-protected website.

Each poster will have its own page featuring your abstract and your poster. You will be able to edit your own page to add additional materials like images, graphics, links to your website profile, modelling or software sites.

You can also provide a short audio recording (MP3) to be included with your poster in the Virtual Poster Gallery, which is available for delegates to visit at any time during the conference week. Please keep your audio recording to 3 minutes or less.

To gain access to this site so that you can view and edit your page you will need a Microsoft Office 365 log-in and to first be invited to the site.

Use your O365 log-in to access site

If your email is hosted by Microsoft Exchange and you are already using Microsoft online (O365) services like MS Teams, then you will be able to use this same account to access the Sainsbury Laboratory Symposium website using the link in the invitation link that will be emailed to you. You will only be able to join the site after we have invited you.

How join the Sainsbury Laboratory Symposium site when your email is NOT hosted on Exchange

If your email is not hosted on Exchange, then you will need to create a ‘Microsoft’ account (there is no fee for this). We will  send you an invitation to the email address that you registered for the conference with. Then you can follow the instructions to create an account using your email with a password.

Email visibility

If you do not wish your email address to be visible to other delegates, please create an alternative email address and email it to our Communications Manager, , letting her know what it is so that she can add your alternative email to the site.
