IMPORTANT: Please check official UK travel guideline prior to travelling to England

The health and safety of our Symposium attendees is our first priority. We have put in place the below on-site safety measures to reduce the risk of the transmission of communicable diseases for in-person attendees and will actively monitor the situation and review measures leading up to and during the Symposium.

We will notify delegates if any of the below measures change.

On-site safety measures include:

  • We currently require that everyone wears a mask, unless exempt, when inside our building. Disposable masks are provided in the entry foyer.

  • Free rapid lateral flow antigen tests will be available in the entry foyer for delegates.

  • The 150-seat auditorium's capacity will be reduced by 50% to enable increased spacing between people. The auditorium is well ventilated with mechanical ventilation supplied with 100% fresh air (3,600 air changes per hour).

  • We have large open dedicated indoor spaces for eating/drinking where seating is 1m+ apart and the area has a very large volume due to above average ceiling heights (3.3-5.9m) and is mechanically ventilated with 100% fresh air. There is also plenty of outdoor tables and seating that delegates are welcome to use.

  • All rooms hosting the Symposium will have 100% fresh air mechanical ventilation.

  • Hand sanitising stations and wipes will be available throughout the building.

  • Seating and posters will be spaced as much as possible.

  • Tables, lecterns and microphones will be cleaned between sessions.

  • Professional caterers who follow strict food safety and anti-covid safety processes will provide all food and beverages for the Symposium.

  • Additional professional cleaning of the Symposium areas between days.

We ask that all attendees:

  • Not attend in-person if experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms. Online attendance will be available.

  • Wear a mask when indoors at the Sainsbury Laboratory building, unless exempt and when eating/drinking in desigated areas. Masks are provided in the entrance foyer.

  • Make use of the free rapid lateral flow antigen tests to make sure you are not COVID-19 positive on days you attend the Symposium.

COVID vaccination passes not required

England does not require COVID vaccination passes to enter the country. We will also not ask people for proof of vaccinations to attend the Symposium on-site.

Cancelling or altering your on-site attendance

We will allow changes to in-person registrations up to one month before the Symposium with whole or partial refunds available if you decide not to attend in-person or wish to attend online instead.
