Research Associate (Fixed Term)

Applications are invited for a joint Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the groups of Professor Elliot Meyerowitz, Dr James Locke, and Dr Henrik Jönsson at the Sainsbury Laboratory, to carry out fundamental research in the field of plant systems biology. The project will focus on examining gene circuit dynamics of key developmental regulators in the shoot apical meristem at the single cell level.

The work will combine time-lapse confocal microscopy, 3D segmentation and image analysis, and plant growth and manipulation. Applicants must have a PhD in the area of Plant Developmental Biology or a related field, a strong publication record and prior experience in molecular cloning and confocal microscopy. Skills required include experimental experience in plant molecular cell biology and experience in using confocal microscopy to image plants. Experience in developing mathematical models of gene regulatory networks would be an advantage.
