Sainsbury Laboratory

Biography:

I completed my Undergraduate degree in Biology at University of Southampton and currently pursuing my PhD at the University of Cambridge in the Sainsbury Laboratory with the Robinson Group.

Research Interests:

I am interested in exploring how plants respond to mechanical stress. Plants interact in a physical manner with their surroundings and therefore are exposed to many stressors from weather such as wind to pollinators landing on their flowers. My research aims to build an understanding into how plants respond to external mechanical stress, from the physical properties of the plant to the genetic and hormonal regulation. I utilise many tools from molecular to confocal imaging alongside equipment developed by the Robinson Lab such as the Automatic Confocal Micro-Extensometer (ACME).
