Open Cambridge
Visit the Sainsbury Laboratory
Each year, we invite the public to the Sainsbury Laboratory Cambridge University (SLCU) as part of Open Cambridge, offering a unique opportunity to see inside our research environment.
Located within the grounds of Cambridge University Botanic Garden, SLCU is a plant science research institute dedicated to understanding the regulatory systems that control plant growth and development.
During your visit, you can explore our award-winning building on a guided tour, discover the ideas behind its design, and meet the scientists working here. Our researchers will share insights into the research taking place across the laboratory, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at how plant science is advancing.
A booking form will be available on this page when tickets for Open Cambridge 2026 are released.
