Kathy joined SLCU in January 2018 and is responsible for promoting the research and achievements of the Institute.
She manages SLCU's social media channels, website, news and intranet. Kathy can provide advice and support to researchers in areas including media interviews, sharing research news, building an online presence, website development and social media skills.
Prior to joining SLCU, she was Communications Editor at the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM), and has extensive experience working in senior science and executive communications roles at Australian universities and government departments. Before moving into communications, Kathy worked for almost a decade as a newspaper journalist, covering education, features, agriculture and general news rounds, across a number of News Corp Australia newspapers.
Kathy is an accredited journalist and holds degrees in Applied Science (Horticulture) and Education.
