I am interested in understanding the cellular patterning, quantifying and modelling how they are emerging during development and what factors are regulating them, in order to find the role of the cell organisation in the realisation of the tissue function.

As a biologist by training, I have developed computational expertise during my research experiences by analysing tissue organisation at the cell level with image analysis and modelling methods.

I have always been fascinated by the complex world of biology and the insights that mathematics can bring. Plants are particularly exciting with rich systems of intertwining chemical and mechanical signalling pathways. I am also interested in the fluid mechanics of swimming microorganisms.

I am fascinated by the process of development. My research focuses on plant development and how growth, cell division and differentiation are coordinated. I am particularly interested in how cell and organ size and shape are determined and am investigating these processes using biomechanics, modelling and genomic approaches.
